About The Position

We are hiring a Senior Director of Professional Relations who will be responsible for the planning and execution of Tarsus’ strategy for the Eye Care medical community. Key areas of focus include thought leader engagement strategy, conference strategy, and sponsorships to build market awareness of Tarsus as a company, Demodex blepharitis, and TP-03, in preparation for TP-03 commercial launch. This role will be involved in hiring, developing & retaining a team, developing long term physician engagement strategies, key engagement processes and, establishing key success metrics, and developing and achieving strategic priorities. This is a rare opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the commercial operations and overall growth of this startup. This role will be ideal for someone who enjoys navigating ambiguity, runs towards challenges, and enjoys the dynamic nature of a fast-moving company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or related field.
  • 15+ years relevant experience required, healthcare/pharma, ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership, experience translating a corporate vision and strategy into departmental goals and objectives; adjusting plans and tactics to meet changing departmental priorities and circumstances; utilizing data
  • Effective talent management, coaching, persuasion, and mentoring skills
  • Established track record with evidence of excellent problem solving, collaboration, leadership and communication skills
  • Proven track record of working with Marketing, Commercial Operations, Market Access, Development, Medical Affairs, and other cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals and objectives
  • Highly adaptable to change, able to quickly pivot and respond to new market information in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and change management skills required, in addition to ability to build strong relationships both vertically and horizontally
  • Proven ability to escalate difficult issues and make tough decisions
  • The ability to independently manage multiple deliverables and shifting priorities with strong skills in project management, collaboration and communication will be key to success.
  • Ideal candidate has a combination of small / start-up company experience as well as working at established biopharmaceutical companies.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree (MBA or advanced science/medical degree) is strongly preferred
  • ophthalmic experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the VP of Marketing, and will serve as the lead on all corporate customer engagement
  • Create the vision, strategy, direction, goals and success metrics for the professional relations team, in collaboration with the broader commercial organization
  • Apply innovation and creativity to develop unique and differentiated platforms for physician education and engagement
  • Build and develop a high performing and diverse team by attracting, selecting, developing and retaining talented individuals who share the goals, vision & core values of the organization
  • Build and foster relationships with key thought leaders, medical organizations and advocacy groups
  • Develop a robust plan for advisory engagements ensuring Tarsus is receiving valuable insights and feedback on strategy from the eye care community
  • Work with broader commercial organization on corporate customer engagement opportunities, new thought leader identification, and overall customer experience strategy
  • Maintain industry awareness regarding market trends, competition, product acceptance and new product launches and indications
