Sr. Director, Product Management- Power

SupermicroSan Jose, CA

About The Position

Supermicro is seeking a strategic and visionary Sr. Director of Product Management to define, own, and drive the next phase of growth for Supermicro’s data center power infrastructure portfolio. This senior leadership role is pivotal in expanding our market leadership beyond servers and racks into the complete power ecosystem—from utility feed and generators to rack-level distribution. You will be responsible for optimizing existing power product lines, spearheading entry into new markets (e.g., sustainable energy, microgrids), securing strategic net-new customer logos, and developing disruptive power solutions for AI factories, cloud, and enterprise data centers. You will own the P&L for the power product portfolio, translate high-level market opportunities into concrete business outcomes, and lead a team of product management directors and managers. You will serve as the ultimate evangelist for Supermicro’s power vision both internally and with C-level executives at target enterprises.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical or Power Engineering; MBA or Master’s strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years in product management, with 8+ years in senior leadership (Director+) managing managers in data center power or industrial electrical equipment.
  • Proven track record launching hardware power products that gained share and revenue; acquiring net-new customer logos; managing $100M+ P&L.
  • Deep knowledge of data center power infrastructure (generators, switchgear, UPS, BESS, PDUs, monitoring systems) and trends in high-density AI, liquid cooling, and sustainability.
  • Executive presence with C-level influence; financial modeling and business case expertise; experience navigating complex sales cycles and partner ecosystems.
  • Analytical, results-driven, excellent communicator across technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Own the multi-year product strategy and roadmap for Supermicro’s power portfolio, targeting AI, HPC, Cloud, and Edge growth.
  • Evaluate new market adjacencies (grid-interactive UPS, BESS, renewables, modular power) and build business cases to secure investment.
  • Execute a “land and expand” strategy to acquire enterprise and hyperscale customers; lead high-value negotiations.
  • Conduct competitive analysis across the power chain, anticipating shifts like 48V distribution, liquid cooling demands, and AI-driven density.
  • Lead and scale a team of Director-level and Principal Product Managers, driving strategic thinking, technical depth, and accountability.
  • Own portfolio P&L, pricing, and ROI analysis for multi-million-dollar initiatives in partnership with Finance.
  • Align Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Operations around the product vision to secure resources.
  • Track KPIs including market share, customer acquisition, new logo revenue, and TCO improvements.
  • Guide integration of generators, switchgear, UPS, BESS, PDUs, and rack power into cohesive, efficient data center solutions.
  • Translate market needs into technical specs and engineering priorities for AI factories and liquid-cooled racks.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance team efficiency, quality, and speed to market.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for Fortune 500/Global 2000 customers, building relationships to close landmark deals.
  • Partner with Sales and Channel leadership on go-to-market strategies, enablement tools, and removing barriers to winning business.
  • Forge alliances with power component vendors, UPS/switchgear manufacturers, renewable providers, and hyperscale teams for joint customer acquisition.
  • Develop data-driven business cases for product features, new initiatives, and partnerships; identify whitespace opportunities.
  • Synthesize insights on efficiency, sustainability, and intelligent power management (AI-driven monitoring, predictive maintenance, storage).
