About The Position

The Sr. Director of WMS will manage and maintain the department’s mission-critical functions through rigorous succession planning, comprehensive employee training, and direct performance management. The role is responsible for driving project success from inception to completion by establishing detailed timelines, motivating teams, and reporting weekly on progress and post-project evaluations. Additionally, the candidate will oversee all Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), coordinating system rollouts, conversions, and vendor relations while leveraging EDI experience to find operational efficiencies. Finally, the position requires technical oversight of the IT support system to identify systematic issues, troubleshoot requests based on priority, and implement generalized long-term solutions.

Requirements

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with individuals and departments throughout the company.
• The ability to successfully manage/lead projects spanning across multiple departments and with a duration of up to 2 years.
• The ability to motivate and drive a team to meet and exceed department and company goals.
• Strong experience with EDI.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the department’s mission-critical functions through rigorous succession planning, comprehensive employee training, and direct performance management.
• Drive project success from inception to completion by establishing detailed timelines, motivating teams, and reporting weekly on progress and post-project evaluations.
• Oversee all Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), coordinating system rollouts, conversions, and vendor relations.
• Leverage EDI experience to find operational efficiencies.
• Provide technical oversight of the IT support system to identify systematic issues, troubleshoot requests based on priority, and implement generalized long-term solutions.
• Maintain and annually update backup plan for all mission critical functions within the department.
• Ensure training of all mission critical functions.
• Set clear goals and expectations for all direct reports.
• Properly document all performance issues and create a PIP when deemed appropriate.
• Create a detailed plan for each approved project, to include timeline, milestones, resources, responsibilities, potential risks, etc.
• Motivate and drive the team of each project to achieve the milestones and goals of each project.
• Communicate, monitor and report weekly to all involved the status (achievements, gaps, failures, next steps) of each project.
• Evaluate the overall success and impact to the company after the completion of each project and investigate any failures.
• Follow up on open CARs ensuring that implemented actions are effective and completed.
• Oversight of all WMS systems.
• Support Team / Conversion Teams / new customer setups.
• Ensure employees have proper training as outlined by their respective CARE form.
• Coordination of WMS rollouts and conversions are planned, approved and executed properly.
• Ensure that the WMS environments are maintained and release packages are installed when appropriate.
• Look for areas of improvement and solutions to implement gain efficiencies.
• Maintain positive relations with WMS vendors.
• Attend WMS seminars and user groups.
• Monitor vendor ticketing system and look for opportunities for improvement.
• Identify any systematic patterns, which may require more generalized actions.
• Respond to all support requests bases on areas of responsibility and priority level accordingly.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues or involve the appropriate person.
• Adhere to the expense authorization document.
