About The Position

The Centralus Sr. Director of Pharmacy provides executive leadership and strategic oversight of pharmacy services across the Centralus Health enterprise. This role is responsible for enterprise-wide financial performance, 340B optimization, medication standardization, formulary governance, and vaccine portfolio strategy. The Sr. Director partners with executive leadership to position pharmacy as a strategic contributor to organizational performance; driving quality, safety and regulatory compliance with a focus on cost containment and margin improvement.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
  • Current New York State pharmacist licensure required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive pharmacy leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success in enterprise standardization, cost containment, and vendor negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides system-level fiscal oversight for pharmacy operations.
  • Responsible for enterprise-wide financial performance optimization.
  • Develops and monitors operating, labor, and capital budgets.
  • Identifies enterprise cost-saving opportunities and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Implements performance dashboards and financial accountability measures.
  • Partners with Revenue Cycle to ensure appropriate charge capture and reimbursement optimization.
  • Identify and lead enterprise-wide innovation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, clinical integration, and financial performance
  • Develop scalable strategies to expand service capabilities across the system
  • Partner with executive leadership to pilot and implement forward-thinking solutions that position the organization competitively within the market
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, vendor partnerships, and care delivery models to enhance system performance
  • Provide executive oversight for the health system's 340B Drug Pricing program across all eligible entities and contract pharmacy relationships
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance with HRSA requirements, audit readiness, and internal governance standards
  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide strategies to optimize 340B program performance while maintaining compliance integrity
  • Lead enterprise strategy for evaluation and conversion of eligible outpatient sites to Article 28 designation (as applicable) to optimize 340B program eligibility and financial performance
  • Provide strategic oversight and expansion planning for system specialty pharmacy services
  • Drive growth initiatives focused on market expansion, payor alignment, limited distribution drug access, and service line integration
  • Oversee financial performance, revenue cycle integrity, and payer contracting collaboration with executive leadership
  • Evaluate and implement innovative specialty pharmacy models to enhance enterprise market positions, such as MTM, Meds to Beds, and home infusion.
  • Develops and implements a unified system pharmacy strategy aligned with Centralus Health's strategic plan.
  • Leads system-wide medication and operational standardization initiatives.
  • Reduces inter-facility variation in formulary, workflows, and inventory practices.
  • Establishes governance structures for system formulary and therapeutic interchange oversight.
  • Oversees harmonization of pharmacy policies across all system entities.
  • Serves as executive lead for system vaccine portfolio strategy.
  • Directs vendor negotiations and purchasing optimization in partnership with supply chain and finance.
  • Implements forecasting and utilization controls to minimize waste and maximize reimbursement.
  • Standardizes vaccine inventory management and distribution processes.
  • Serves as Centralus Health's designee to the Captis Board
  • Represents system interests in group purchasing governance
  • Evaluates and executes financial commitments
  • Reviews and assesses Letter of Commitment (LOC) obligations
  • Advises executive leadership on financial exposure and contractual risk
  • Partners with Revenue Cycle to ensure appropriate charge capture and reimbursement optimization.
  • Provides direct supervision of Supervising Pharmacists and Assistant Director
  • Aligns site pharmacy leaders with enterprise goals and performance standards.
  • Establishes accountability structures and performance metrics.
  • Leads workforce planning, succession development, and leadership growth strategies.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation standards.
  • Coordinates system readiness for surveys and regulatory reviews.
  • Oversees medication safety initiatives and performance improvement programs.
  • Ensures pharmaceutical care meets professional standards and supports measurable patient outcomes.
  • Serves as strategic advisor to the ELT on pharmacy-related enterprise decisions.
  • Participates in executive committees and long-range planning activities.
  • Collaborates with medical staff leadership, infection prevention, quality, and supply chain to align clinical and operational priorities.
