Morrison has more than 1,600 registered dietitians and 1,200 executive chefs, and serves more than 600M meals annually.Job SummaryThe Sr. Director of Food & Nutrition Services serves as the senior operational leader for the Food & Nutrition Services Department within a large healthcare facility. This role oversees all day‑to‑day foodservice operations, including patient dining, retail, catering, production, and clinical nutrition support. The Sr. Director provides strategic leadership, ensures high‑quality service delivery, maintains strong client partnerships, drives financial performance, and leads the development of a large, diverse team. $10M Managed Volume • $2.2M Retail Sales • 95 FTEs • 6 Managers • Bedside Patient Delivery Program

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of proven leadership experience, with responsibility for large teams and complex operations.
  • Two to four years of direct foodservice operational management, including purchasing and inventory oversight.
  • Strong understanding of foodservice and healthcare dining trends, with expertise in quality production, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation.
  • Experience managing P&L performance and contract foodservice accounts preferred.
  • Forward‑thinking, proactive leadership style with the ability to represent the company professionally and effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ServSafe® certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Direct overall departmental operations to meet performance goals while operating within the approved budget and maximizing value for the client.
  • Ensure all food served—across patient dining, bedside delivery, retail, and catering—is of superior quality, safe, and aligned with healthcare standards.
  • Lead safety, sanitation, and equipment maintenance programs to ensure regulatory and compliance excellence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the client, key stakeholders, and interdisciplinary hospital departments.
  • Promote professional development, engagement, and advancement opportunities for all team members across 95 FTEs and 6 managers.
  • Foster strong interdepartmental partnerships to integrate Food & Nutrition Services into broader hospital operations and service excellence initiatives.
  • Oversee retail strategy and performance, including $2.2M in annual retail sales.
  • Drive innovation, service enhancements, and operational efficiencies within a bedside patient meal delivery model.
