About The Position

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is seeking a Sr. Director, International Subscription Growth to lead the strategic and operational development of the international expansion plan for the company’s direct-to-consumer streaming and subscription product portfolio. This role will report to the Head of Growth and will drive cross-functional efforts to define, prioritize, and execute market entry strategies for the streaming subscription business beyond the U.S. The position requires a strategic, product-minded operator who can translate high-level growth goals into actionable plans, orchestrate complex workstreams across streaming, product, marketing, technology, partnerships, and regional leadership, and deliver a clear roadmap for international launch execution. The role serves as the primary point of integration between domestic Marketing, Product, and Streaming teams and International teams across regions, ensuring alignment with global growth ambitions and current capabilities.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in product management, business operations, or strategic growth roles within direct-to-consumer subscription or streaming businesses.
  • Deep experience with global product rollouts or international market expansion.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across product, marketing, engineering, finance, and international markets.
  • Strong business acumen with a demonstrated ability to frame strategic questions, synthesize insights, and drive executive alignment on complex decisions.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and balancing high-level strategy with tactical execution.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of interfacing effectively with EVP/SVP-level leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end strategy and planning for international growth of the streaming product, identifying priority markets, launch sequencing, and business model considerations.
  • Assess and frame critical business questions related to pricing, distribution, go-to-market partnerships, and product readiness.
  • Develop a data-informed recommendation on the optimal path to growth outside the U.S., balancing subscriber potential, cost, and operational feasibility.
  • Partner with Streaming, Distribution, Ad Sales, Marketing, Finance, Strategy, PTD and the Head of Growth to model trade-offs and develop long-range plans for international subscription contribution targets.
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to understand product capabilities and constraints and define the roadmap for international launch enablement.
  • Collaborate with International Marketing, Regional teams, and regional functional experts to design launch playbooks and local activation strategies using existing marketing and distribution infrastructure.
  • Work with International and Domestic Ad Sales and Growth leadership to evaluate trade-offs between subscription and advertising monetization in global markets.
  • Serve as the central orchestrator for all cross-functional workstreams related to international launch preparation, execution, and performance review.
  • Lead a small, high-performing team of mid- and senior-level product and growth professionals to drive analysis, planning, and execution.
  • Establish and maintain strong alignment with international business units, ensuring transparency, clarity, and progress toward shared objectives.
  • Represent the international growth strategy and progress to EVP and SVP stakeholders across Growth, Product, and International divisions.
  • Drive the ongoing refinement of international growth frameworks and scaling models as markets mature and capabilities expand.
  • Manage a distributed team, providing direction, feedback, and growth opportunities, leading primarily through influence.
  • Build a high-performance team culture rooted in customer excellence, agility, and collaboration.
  • Lead calmly and clearly in high-pressure environments.
  • Provide clear prioritization and support to ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration that can be scaled as ambitions change.
