About The Position

Wonder is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Director, Accounting Operations to lead and scale its core financial functions. This role will oversee Accounts Receivable (A/R), Billing, Accounts Payable (A/P), and Payroll, ensuring operational excellence, robust internal controls, and seamless integration of acquired entities. The position reports directly to the Chief Accounting Officer. The role involves strategic operational leadership, including developing and implementing standardized procedures (SOPs) for procure-to-pay and order-to-cash cycles to support growth and IPO readiness. It also includes ensuring the migration of accounting data to a unified enterprise platform (NetSuite) and overseeing the onboarding of processing functions for acquired companies. The functional oversight includes managing the end-to-end P2P process, optimizing billing and cash application processes, and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. A key responsibility is designing and maintaining a robust control environment (COSO framework) for operational accounting, ensuring audit-readiness for SEC compliance. The role also involves team management and collaboration, including leading and mentoring the accounting operations team, identifying skill gaps, and providing professional development opportunities. Cross-functional partnership with Group Controllers, FP&A, Legal, and IT is essential, as is working with key stakeholders to align operational goals and influence strategic decisions. A strong focus on customer satisfaction for internal and external customers is expected.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a complex, multi-entity organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve and mature operations through standardization and leverage of technology.
  • Direct experience with complex supply chain environments preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance.
  • Extensive experience with enterprise-grade ERP’s and automated procurement platforms (e.g., Zip).
  • Proven track record of successfully integrating accounting operations following material acquisitions.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions, including conducting cost-benefit analysis and prioritizing initiatives to drive operational efficiency and financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement standardized procedures (SOPs) for the procure-to-pay and order-to-cash cycles to support Wonder’s rapid growth and IPO readiness.
  • Ensure the migration of accounting data from legacy systems to a unified enterprise platform (NetSuite).
  • Oversee the onboarding of processing functions for acquired companies, ensuring alignment with Wonder’s policies and reporting standards.
  • Manage the end-to-end P2P process, including vendor master file maintenance, duplicate detection, and transition to automated payment runs in NetSuite.
  • Optimize billing processes/systems and cash application processes across diverse business lines.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for a diverse workforce, including restaurant, production facility, and corporate employees.
  • Design and maintain a robust control environment (COSO framework) for operational accounting, ensuring all activities are audit-ready for SEC compliance.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse accounting operations team, identifying skill gaps and providing professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Group Controllers, FP&A, Legal, and IT to ensure financial data integrity and support strategic decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with executive leadership, Finance, and business partners to align operational goals, communicate key performance indicators, and influence strategic decisions.
  • Drive functional teams to operate with a strong focus on satisfying the needs of all internal and external customers.
