About The Position

The Senior Direct Support Professional is responsible for light housework including cooking, meal prep, and cleaning. They will also maintain personal care/hygiene routines such as feeding, medication administration, bathing, showering, and toileting. This role involves providing transportation to and from appointments, activities, and excursions. Additionally, the position requires providing behavioral and social support, which may include managing physical and verbal outbursts or aggressiveness. The Senior Direct Support Professional may also be responsible for occasional sleepover shifts or supervising a residential home in the absence of a Residential Supervisor, and will assist the Residential Supervisor with other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Valid Driver’s License with 2 years of consecutive driving experience and less than 3 moving violations within the past 36 months
• Ability to pass pre-employment background/physical/TB/drug screenings
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. as needed
• Previous direct support/caregiving experience and/or experience working with individuals with disabilities

Responsibilities

• Light housework: cooking, meal prep, cleaning
• Maintenance of personal care/hygiene routines: feeding, medication administration, bathing, showering, toileting
• Providing transportation to and from doctor’s appointments, outside activities and excursions
• Behavioral and social support (to include working with potential physical and verbal outbursts/ aggressiveness)
• Providing occasional sleepover shifts and/or supervise a residential home in which there is no Residential Supervisor
• Assisting the Residential Supervisor in any other assigned duties
