About The Position

Defines mid- and long-term R&D strategy and ensures implementation, coordination, development and control of the R&D portfolio and budget, for the unit assigned, to ensure business organization competitiveness and steers development of products and technology. Ensures operational excellence for the R&D organization. Ensures continuous analyses of strategically relevant technological trends, on a global scale. Analyses the product, system and service portfolio of the Radiation Oncology Solutions, and derives long term perspective proposals for prospective technology and innovation portfolio development. Derives and proposes technology strategies, in cooperation with the business, and derives plans to turn strategy to action. Coordinates the strategic R&D planning and reporting to business organization management. Identifies technology development opportunities, and initiates, coordinates and manages project acquisition, exploration and research of projects. Builds and maintains a sound strategic network in relation to internationally recognized technology experts to help support ROS R&D roadmap. Represents Global R&D to development and technology partners. Represents Global R&D to various stakeholders within Siemens Healthineers. Manages Global R&D infrastructure and capacity allocation Coordinates communication and harmonization across multiple Global R&D locations Ensures operational excellence and productivity gains Makes employees engaged for Global R&D teams. Coordinates development and monitoring of core KPI and annual goals for the Global R&D organization. Maintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding solutions for customers Work across Varian to meet and exceed all company goals including employee satisfaction, customer satisfaction and financial metrics Drive cross functional teaming and collaboration within all business and functions globally.

Requirements

  • Ability to set a vision, lead change and to mentor others
  • Experience working with global development teams spread out across multiple countries
  • Substantial experience working in complex, matrixed organizations
  • Experience with working in the Medical Device industry
  • 10+ years in a leadership role in R&D product development
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong budgeting, organizational management and project management skills.
