About The Position

Responsible for activities related to the support of the integration and maintenance of the Health System's software and hardware desktop computing environment. Responsible for the desktop engineering aspect of enterprise operations (image management, Windows) and advanced triage/troubleshooting of service incidents related to desktop packages. Manages ad-hoc desktop engineering portions of various software and end user facing hardware projects within the enterprise. Implements operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system. Develops and promotes standard operating procedures. Monitors ongoing operation of desktop standard image and software packages, identifies problems, and recommends corrective actions, as needed. Acts as a technical lead in team planning, coordinating and mentoring, as well as overcoming barriers. Responsible for software installations/upgrades during scheduled maintenance windows. Interfaces effectively with associates, management, and clients in a team environment. Provides technical customer support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field OR Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 3 years experience with MS Windows, Linux, or UNIX server operating systems
  • 3 years experience with design and development of complex systems
  • 3 years experience with desktop and asset management tools
  • 3 years experience with software distribution systems (Altiris or SCCM)
