About The Position

Join Hitachi Energy’s engineering team to develop reliable, efficient, and sustainable transformer solutions. The role contributes to custom transformer designs and next-generation technologies for energy infrastructure, working across functions to address customer needs and improve product performance. The specialist leads design and development work, analyzes designs and components, and supports prototype builds, testing, and design updates. The role also advances design processes, materials, manufacturability, technology implementation, and Design to Value initiatives, while sharing technical knowledge and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
3–5+ years of experience in electrical design or product development, ideally in transformer engineering.
Ability to work in the U.S. without the need for employer-sponsored authorization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Clear, concise communication skills for diverse technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

An advanced degree.
Experience with 3D CAD tools; PTC Creo proficiency is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Collaborate on custom transformer designs with a strong focus on safety and hazard mitigation.
Lead the design and development of three-phase and single-phase transformers.
Analyze designs, systems, and components requiring advanced technical expertise.
Support prototype builds, testing, and design updates based on results.
Drive continuous improvement in design processes, materials, and manufacturability.
Champion technology implementation and Design to Value (DTV) initiatives.
Provide technical mentorship and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
