Requirements

  • Master’s in Engineering & 2 yrs exp OR Bachelor’s in Engineering & 5 yrs exp.
  • 2 yrs exp using CATIA V5 &/or 3DEXPERIENCE in design of metal & plastic auto components & assemblies, with knowledge of FMVSS standards & cross functional coordination for vehicle integration
  • 6 months of experience developing & analyzing kinematic models of mechanical systems to meet functional, performance & cost requirements
  • 6 months exp developing & standardizing methodologies for MBD & 2D drawing creation using CATIA
  • 6 months exp w/ electromechanical systems including wire harness
  • 6 months exp with DFM principles

Responsibilities

  • Lead & support engineering activities for large scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, perform design using CATIA, conduct layout review, drawing, creating & negotiation w/surrounding component functional units.
  • Create concepts & specifications that meet cost, delivery, accuracy, & quality targets.
  • Lead transition from task-based activity to small-scale projects by monitoring & tracking progress of projects & handle issues that arise.
  • Report & escalate to mgmt. Support management with projects scope, scheduling, quoting & reporting for these small-scale projects.
  • Mentor & train assocs. Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date tech & reduce design & parts costs.
  • Travel to client sites.
  • Will work in various unanticipated locations throughout U.S.-5% domestic travel.
