About The Position

Responsible for the technical and procedural aspect of engine/component designs from initial layout through final drawings. Provide design assistance and coordination for Product Development. Create BOM’s; ECO’s for engine specs, process specs, and drawings. Provide guidance to drafting/CAD operators. Consult with suppliers/customers on designs and specifications. Recommend Engineering changes and ensure timely and accurate preparation and implementation.

Requirements

• Knowledge ASME Y14.5 GD&T drafting standards
• Design / modeling / drafting experience with 3D CAD solids based parametric modeling systems (Inventor, SolidWorks, SolidEdge or Siemens NX preferred)
• Structural / thermal / fluid Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience (ANSYS preferred)

Nice To Haves

• Master's Degree with 2+ years work experience
• Knowledge of FAA regulations and certification experience
• Working knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
• Private pilot’s license

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of engineering assignments related to new product development and/or enhancement of existing products
• Responsible for creation & development of new design concepts from layout through final drawings
• Conduct and/or support analysis of mechanical system & component designs (FEA, static, dynamic, etc)
• Provide guidance to drafting/CAD operators
• Investigate and resolve Discrepant Material Reports
• Interface with internal manufacturing teams/operators on designs and specifications
• Support component resourcing projects
• Consult with suppliers/customers on designs and specifications
• Establish and execute program schedules
• Review and evaluate results/conclusions of projects
• Execute product development & certification programs necessary to achieve strategic business objective(s)
• Coordinate activities with Engineering Manager, Program Management and other Program Managers as required to ensure common business and development goals will be achieved
• May be required to interface with suppliers
