Under the limited guidance of Engineering Leadership, the Sr. Design Engineer - Mechanical is responsible for developing new products and providing released product support. This position manages all stages of new product development, from concept and prototypes, to design completion, and launch, incorporating customer feedback throughout the process and helping create project schedules and cost estimates. The Sr. Design Engineer - Mechanical establishes product qualification plans and ensures compliance with regulatory testing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead focused design projects from conception to completion. Provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design requirements are met. Complete advanced and complicated Engineering Support tasks, through formal support requests and drawing check / approval. Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on technical issues. Evaluate design concepts for feasibility, performance, and cost-effectiveness. Implement Continuous Improvement opportunities within the Engineering Department. Lead Root Cause Analysis and War Room activities. Keep all documentation up to date to ensure ISO/AS compliance.
