The Senior Default Claims Specialist will be responsible for preparing, filing, and following up on all FHA, VA, USDA, MI, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae claims. They will ensure claims are filed timely and accurately according to insurer and investor guidelines. They will perform all duties in accordance with the company's policies and procedures. They will be required to be experts of mortgage servicing investors, state and federal guidelines pertaining to loan servicing, with specific emphasis on default claim processing. Additionally, the Senior Default Claims Specialist will be responsible for routinely identifying various process gaps and communicating suggested resolutions to leadership.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Default Claims.
  • 5+ years of experience in Mortgage Servicing.
  • 1+ years of experience in LoanSphere Claims.
  • Experience in Default ClaimsHands-on Claims with all claim types listed above.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in addition to verbal/written communication in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills a must.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all Black Knight Products as they relate to default with at least 3+ year MSP experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of basic computer software programs to include Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel, Internet, and Microsoft Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and manage claim milestones to ensure tasks are processed in compliance with all state and federal laws while maintaining compliance with Investor, Insurer, Agency, and company guidelines.
  • Stay current with pending regulatory and investor guideline changes that could impact claims processes and effectively communicate these to leadership.
  • Prepare and file all FHA, VA, USDA, MI, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae timely and accurately according to investor/insurer/CHL guidelines and requirements.
  • Manage a portfolio of all FHA, VA, USDA, MI, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae claims derived from events pertaining to Foreclosure, Loss Mitigation and any other liquidation events.
  • Cross train on various parts of the Loss Analysis process including data input and AOP review.
  • Monitor properties for title transfer and claim reimbursement, in strict accordance with investor insurer guidelines.
  • Keep management informed of all trends and impediments including, but not limited to, claim denials/curtailments, FHA re-conveyances, FHA offsets, etc.
  • Ensure all claim documents are imaged and provided timely.
  • Has the flexibility to learn new skills and expand job knowledge to better perform assigned duties.
  • Moderate understanding of the default waterfall and how it pertains to different claims processes.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet strict deadlines and SLA’s.
  • Identify gaps in the department policies and procedures and provide recommendations and solutions.
  • Assist in training new team members to help further the new hire process.
