Caremark LLC, a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in Woonsocket, RI: Sr. Data Engineer to Design, build, and manage large-scale data pipelines and backend services to support analytics, machine learning and AI platform initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Data Analytics, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • One (1) year of experience in Python programming for data engineering and backend development
  • One (1) year of experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud services
  • One (1) year of experience in BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar cloud data warehouses
  • One (1) year of experience in Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools
  • One (1) year of experience in Building and operating data pipelines at scale
  • One (1) year of experience in SQL for data querying and transformation
  • One (1) year of experience in FastAPI, Flask, or similar Python web frameworks
  • One (1) year of experience in Building CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments
  • One (1) year of experience in Working with machine learning platforms or MLOps infrastructure
  • One (1) year of experience in Relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • One (1) year of experience in Unix, Linux, or Shell scripting
  • One (1) year of experience in Version control using Git

Responsibilities

  • Collect, organize and standardize data to enable reporting
  • Design database schemas and data models to support internal reporting and analytics
  • Integrate data from multiple sources while ensuring data quality and accessibility standards
  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using workflow orchestration tools to enable model training, feature engineering, and inference
  • Build backend API services for AI applications, including secure authentication, data storage, and metrics logging
  • Collaborate with enterprise infrastructure, observability, networking, devops and AI governance teams to build automated AI production workflows
  • Support large language model (LLM) integration efforts, including prompt engineering and building applications that leverage generative AI
  • Contribute to AI platform capabilities for reporting, governance and compliance tracking
  • Develop Python libraries and reusable components to streamline data operations, automate compliance, and improve engineering efficiency
  • Analyze current information technology and cloud environments to identify and assess critical capabilities, performance bottlenecks, and cost drivers and recommend solutions
  • Implement software engineering best practices including CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, and thorough code reviews
  • Mentor junior team members
