About The Position

Relativity Space is hiring a Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, also described as a Data & Control Systems Engineer, to lead the design, development, integration, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems at its Stennis test facility. The role focuses on building reliable, maintainable systems that engineers and technicians with varying levels of electrical and controls experience can operate safely. For complex applications, the engineer will take solutions from initial concept and design through implementation, testing, commissioning, and operator training. The engineer will work directly with technicians to build, troubleshoot, test, and validate systems, applying engineering principles to resolve technical issues and verify performance. The role also provides technical guidance to other engineers, contributes to engineering standards and best practices, and ensures systems are documented to support safe operation, troubleshooting, and long-term maintenance. Projects range from individual instrumentation installations to large electrical control cabinets and facility-wide systems. The Stennis Test team designs, builds, and operates propulsion and stage test stands. It works hands-on with complex systems, including integrated engines and stage assemblies, to support flight readiness. The team environment is fast-paced and highly operational, with collaboration among technicians, operators, and engineers.
