About The Position

Dhaka Technologies Limited Company (DTLC) is hiring a Sr Data Architect on behalf of Altimetrik, supporting Morgan Stanley, for a hybrid position in New York City, NY. The role is a hands-on architecture lead position for a multi-year modernization program moving on-premises Hadoop workloads to Snowflake. The architect will own the target architecture, work with client stakeholders, guide an India-based delivery team through an AI-assisted migration approach, and help grow the account by identifying and shaping new opportunities.

The position involves defining Snowflake architecture and migration and validation approaches, coordinating with client architecture, security, and governance teams, and contributing to opportunity development, proposals, estimates, and risk management. The role also includes mentoring engineers and presenting to senior client stakeholders.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in data engineering and architecture.
• 4+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience.
• Proven delivery experience migrating Hadoop platforms, including Cloudera, Hive, and Spark, to cloud data platforms.
• Strong SQL, Python, and Spark skills.
• Working knowledge of Snowpark, orchestration, and CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Experience with data modeling, lineage, and reconciliation in a regulated environment.
• Experience leading distributed teams and presenting to senior client stakeholders.
• A track record of solutioning and proposal development, including identifying client needs, framing solutions, and contributing to winning new work.

Responsibilities

• Define the target Snowflake architecture, including data models, layering, and ingestion and transformation patterns.
• Lead assessment and design for Hadoop-to-Snowflake migrations, determining which assets to migrate, re-engineer, archive, or retire.
• Guide conversion of Hive, Spark, Python, and shell workloads to Snowflake SQL and Snowpark using AI-assisted tools with review controls.
• Establish validation approaches covering reconciliation, data-quality rules, parallel runs, cutover, and rollback.
• Work with client architecture, security, and governance teams on access, retention, and compliance decisions.
• Identify account growth opportunities, including additional migration domains and data platform and AI-enabled consumption initiatives, by building relationships with client architects and business stakeholders.
• Recommend solutions and shape proposals with Altimetrik account, sales, and delivery leadership, including scope, approach, estimates, and commercials.
• Mentor engineers and support estimates, scope, and risk management.
• Lead distributed teams and present to senior client stakeholders.
