About The Position

Quest Diagnostics is a leading clinical laboratory dedicated to providing innovative diagnostic information services. We are at the forefront of oncology diagnostics, leveraging advanced Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies to deliver life-changing insights. As we expand our offerings in Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) testing and early cancer detection, we are looking for a passionate Sr. Data Analyst to join our team. The Sr.Data Analyst will play a critical role in unlocking the value of complex genomic, clinical, and operational data. This role will work cross-functionally alongside Laboratory and Clinical Operations, R&D, and Bioinformatics to drive data-informed decisions that support the scaling and optimization of our MRD assays. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, a deep understanding of laboratory data workflows, and a passion for improving patient outcomes through precision oncology.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within a clinical laboratory, biotech, academia or healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with genomic data, bioinformatics workflows, and clinical assay validation.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks (FDA, CLIA, CAP, ISO) and software quality standards.
  • High proficiency in querying and manipulating large datasets using SQL.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or R for statistical analysis and data modeling.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Metabase).
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex technical findings into clear, strategic business recommendations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a proven track record of working effectively across scientific, technical, and business teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to oncology diagnostics, NGS data, and/or MRD testing is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex datasets related to MRD assay performance, laboratory turnaround times, and clinical validity.
  • Design, build, and maintain automated dashboards to communicate key metrics to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Partner with the R&D and Product Development teams to provide analytical support for the design, validation, and commercialization of new early-detection oncology and MRD assays.
  • Work closely with Bioinformatics engineers to analyze pipeline outputs and support the strategic scaling of robust data pipelines.
  • Ensure all data management and reporting processes align with strict regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO, IEC).
  • Support documentation and risk management efforts as part of a robust Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for our NGS systems.
  • Identify bottlenecks in laboratory workflows and propose data-backed solutions to improve testing efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
