About The Position

The Sr Cyber Security Manager is a critical member of NBCUniversal’s Cyber Security organization, responsible for executing and contributing to the Cyber Security strategy. The role oversees operational engagement with key leaders across AI Product, Strategy, and Engineering teams within the Operations & Technology organization. NBCUniversal takes a threat-centric, intelligence-forward approach to Cyber Security. The manager will use proactive defense experience and technical and business acumen to translate security insights into a tactical roadmap. The role builds relationships across Operations & Technology, leadership, and supporting teams to assess business practices, identify security control gaps, and lead the development and execution of cyber security strategies. The manager engages Cyber Security leadership, business technical teams, internal audit, clients, and regulators, and communicates the value of Cyber Security programs and services to gain business partners’ support and trust. This is a commutable remote position requiring some onsite presence, as necessary, from an identified NBCUniversal location, with the ability to work remotely on other days. The position requires the employee to be within commuting distance of New York, NY; Universal City, CA; Centennial, CO; Stamford, CT; Miami, FL; or Orlando, FL, and allows travel up to 10% of the time.

Requirements

10 or more years of work experience in Information Technology, or 7 years of experience with a master’s-level education in a related field.
3 or more years of work experience in Cyber Security.
2 or more years of experience in customer-facing technical engagement roles, including service and solution delivery.
2 or more years of experience managing, coordinating, and tracking projects using project management tools.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Must be within commuting distance of New York, NY; Universal City, CA; Centennial, CO; Stamford, CT; Miami, FL; or Orlando, FL.

Nice To Haves

Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, LLMs, and agentic workflows.
News or media and entertainment industry experience.
Experience securing enterprise products, such as Microsoft suite, collaboration tools, and development tools.
Ability to translate complex technical and security risks into business-focused recommendations for senior leadership.
Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field of study.
Understanding of data privacy, intellectual property, regulatory, and compliance considerations related to AI.
Training or certifications in Cyber Security disciplines.
Experience leading Information Security or Technology teams and concurrent projects.
Demonstrated history delivering security solutions in a global enterprise environment.
Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization and build consensus.
Ability to oversee technical efforts while maintaining strategic alignment with key goals and objectives.

Knowledge of recognized Information Security standards and technologies.
Knowledge of international Information Security and Privacy regulations, laws, and policies.

Responsibilities

Partner with business leadership and service owners to execute the Cyber Security strategy and proactively address business needs while meeting or exceeding established security levels.
Communicate and coordinate NBCUniversal’s Cyber Security strategy, programs, and services with diverse business stakeholders.
Understand business workflows and work with business leaders and teams to identify risks and business-aware mitigation strategies.
Provide Cyber Security thought leadership and counsel with an understanding of business culture, audience, and climate.
Explain the threat landscape to business stakeholders and how the Cyber Security strategy is aligned to defend against threats.
Synthesize security engineering assessments, compliance status, and incident reports to set priorities, identify overarching successes and shortcomings, and determine critical initiatives.
Track and coordinate Cyber Security involvement in technical and business-driven technology projects.
Partner with the security incident response team to resolve and close incident investigations, including postmortems and remediation plans.
Support and develop business-relevant metrics and key performance indicators to measure Cyber Security program maturity.
