About The Position

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a for a hybrid Sr. Cyber Security Analyst opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. This role is a Senior Cyber Security Analyst will join the Cyber Threat Intelligence (SecOps) team, focusing primarily on Security Assessments and Penetration Testing. This role plans and executes security tests against applications, systems, and enterprise infrastructure to uncover vulnerabilities, simulate real-world attack scenarios, and validate risk before malicious actors can exploit them.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
8 years of job related technical experience to include: Linux and various penetration testing tools. (BurpSuite, MetaSploit, Nessus)
Strong analytical, data gathering and problem solving skills with experience analyzing network attacks.
Understanding of system and network security, incident management, intrusion detection, log analysis, and related technologies.
Ability to recognize and address new threats and security challenges as they arise.
Ability to translate complex vulnerabilities into business-relevant risk and provide practical, understandable remediation guidance.

Nice To Haves

Strong incident response experience in a medium to large sized enterprise.
Experience interpreting and acting on cyber threat intelligence.
CISA, CISM, CISSP.
Confidential security clearance (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Planning and executing security tests against applications, systems, and infrastructure to uncover vulnerabilities before attackers do.
Reviewing scope, analyzing prior results, running scans, investigating weaknesses, and documenting evidence to determine real-world risk.
