About The Position

Leidos’ Payroll Services team is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Senior Costpoint Time & Labor Specialist to support complex Costpoint transaction processing, timesheet administration, audit requests, reporting, testing activities, system enhancements, and special projects. This role serves as a subject matter resource for Costpoint Time & Labor processes, requiring independent analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex payroll and labor-related issues. The successful candidate will exercise sound judgment, identify root causes of system and transactional errors, recommend solutions, and support continuous process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and 6-8 years of relevant experience in labor administration and Costpoint support
  • Advanced knowledge of Deltek Costpoint Time & Labor and related payroll processes.
  • Experience supporting payroll and labor functions within a government contracting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex transactional and system-related issues.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
  • Experience supporting system testing, implementations, upgrades, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of time charging policies, labor accounting principles, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work overtime as required to support payroll processing cycles, testing efforts, and special projects.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex Costpoint Time & Labor and payroll transaction issues.
  • Upload and validate various pay-related files within Costpoint.
  • Perform complex timecard corrections, labor transfers, and transaction adjustments while ensuring compliance with company policies and government contracting requirements.
  • Research and resolve timesheet discrepancies, processing errors, and data integrity issues.
  • Review and analyze labor data to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes of issues.
  • Support system testing activities, including enhancements, upgrades, defect validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Participate in special projects, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional efforts impacting payroll and labor systems.
  • Develop, document, and maintain procedures and process documentation.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex employee and stakeholder inquiries related to timesheet and labor transactions.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations for resolving payroll and labor-related issues.
  • Track, document, and manage issues through resolution, ensuring timely follow-up and communication.
  • Take ownership of process documentation, creating and maintaining standard operating procedures and keeping them current, accurate, and audit-ready.
  • Take the initiative to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements, including those that fall outside direct areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders to resolve system and process issues.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Support audit requests and compliance-related activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
