About The Position

Responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Supports the monthly close process, cost analysis, accounting, investigation and reporting of cost and manufacturing variances. Analyzes and communicates variances for costs, prepare and analyze monthly gross margins and inventory reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in handling general accounting responsibilities in manufacturing.
  • Intermediate computer skills, intermediate language skills, advanced mathematical skills, and advanced reasoning skills.
  • Must be able to work overtime when needed during month-end closings, quarter and year-end reporting, audit and for special projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct monthly close activities such as posting journal entries and preparing balance sheet account and sub-ledger reconciliations
  • Enter non-rental fixed asset additions and disposals after obtaining appropriate approvals
  • Analyze Construction in Progress each month for items to be added to fixed assets
  • Execute monthly journal entries to correct and/or amortize cost roll transactions
  • Calculate and record inventory obsolescence provision monthly
  • Monitor and report on absorption on a monthly basis
  • Analyze monthly financials for the Bossier facility and prepare written commentary
  • Daily review of journals and reports to analyze variances as they happen
  • Cost roll items daily(?) and review costs daily(?)
  • Add and monitor freight for international and domestic logistics
  • Perform freight and tariff analysis and accrue costs as needed each month-end
  • Reconcile accounts related to Cost of Goods sold and Inventory monthly
  • Analyze, report on and provide journal entry for variance accounts monthly
  • Margin Analysis, inventory and WIP reports.
  • Analyze combination codes and ensure allocation to branches
  • Ensure manufacturing costs are up to date and cost issues are identified
  • Comply with all safety, health, environmental requirements, policies and procedures relevant to the position
  • Assist with special projects or assignments as assigned
  • Support internal control efforts by diligently monitoring internal control requirements for assigned duties
  • Prepare PBCs for external audit and assists with analysis and explanations
  • Provide documentation and support when needed to internal audit
  • Manage multiple deadlines and responds quickly to management requests
