About The Position

Cascade Designs, a company with multiple outdoor brands and headquartered in Reno, NV, is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their Finance team. This role reports to the Vice President of Finance and is responsible for the accurate valuation of inventory and cost of goods sold. The position involves disseminating relevant financial reports to operational personnel and collaborating with various teams to ensure proper financial practices and resolutions.

Requirements

• BA in Accounting, Finance or similar field.
• 4 - 7 years of experience.
• At least two years of experience in cost accounting.
• Experience with ERP systems (JDE preferred).
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• General accounting professional level, including journal entries and reporting responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Knowledge of standard cost systems.
• Significant analytical skillset, including the utilization of BI and reporting tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented and analytical.
• Flexibility to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships.
• High level of business acumen.
• Ability to manage confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Provide standard inventory costing through daily work with operations and accounting teams.
• Manage operational month and year-end processes, including rolling all costs and meeting deadlines. Conduct analyses for overhead, obsolescence, work-order variances, inspection, and in-transit inventory account reconciliation.
• Collaborate across the organization to resolve various issues.
• Prepare client schedules and perform analysis for the annual audit.
• Generate weekly reports for operations (direct labor, purchase price variance, cost of quality) and work with operations to resolve issues identified in these reports.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in accounting processes and coordinate complex accounting projects and initiatives.
• Serve as the key liaison for Transfer Pricing with Cascade Designs, Ltd.
• Manage annual cost updates.
• Maintain LIFO reserve schedules.
• Assist Finance leadership with various projects and other assigned duties.
