About The Position

As a Senior Controls Engineer with the Ride Control Team, you will develop and implement control systems for complex automated industrial laundry applications to enhance our guest experience. We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer that can contribute to the development of control systems across multiple automated laundry & textile facilities. You will design, commission and support the electrical and electronic systems that control industrial laundry equipment, applying expertise in electrical design and multi-language software development for industrial controls. We seek an individual that works well both individually and as a member and leader of a project team. This position is a Full-Time Hybrid role based in Lake Buena Vista, FL, and will report to a Manager of Ride Controls.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial automation and controls.
  • Proficient in PLC programming and C/C++
  • Experience designing and architecting control systems hardware to UL 508a, e.g. Motor Control Cabinets, IO enclosures, field sensors, cabling, etc.
  • Experience in AC and DC Drive programming and tuning
  • Experience in safety related control systems
  • Experience in software development planning and documentation
  • Experience in version control and collaboration software tools
  • Knowledge of industrial network protocols, AS-I, INTERBUS, ControlNet, Profinet, CIP and Ethernet IP
  • Experience in software testing and commissioning
  • Experience drawing, interpreting and marking up AutoCAD assemblies and schematics.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on industrial automated laundry facilities and related equipment.
  • Experience in the entertainment ride and show industry
  • Familiar with IEC – 61131 using Ladder Diagram and Structured Text
  • Experience in safety control system design using safety PLCs and safety devices
  • Experience in developing risk assessments and designs using IEC/ISO functional safety standards
  • Knowledge of I/O and Supervisory Network systems
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic servo control systems

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical and automated designs for interfaces to high volume automated washing, drying, sorting and folding systems.
  • Develop software architecture and coding for Embedded Systems, Rockwell and Siemens PLCs
  • Develop and troubleshoot software and hardware on motion control VFD and servo systems
  • Develop hardware and software design documents
  • Develop safety analysis documents used in safety critical applications
  • Develop and troubleshoot software for industrial Graphical User Interfaces
  • Develop and perform control system acceptance test plans
