About The Position

As a mid-level Professional in Program Accounting, the successful candidate will partner closely with customer business teams, program management and accounting to forecast and manage long-term engineering contracts. This includes supporting financial forecasts (short range outlooks, formal forecasts, annual plan) and periodic program reviews (EACs). Working in a team environment, the individual will develop the knowledge and experience to advise Engineering Program Teams on proper accounting for long-term projects and the related financial implications. The team continually evaluates our standard processes, so there are many opportunities to contribute to improvements and demonstrate technical skills.

Requirements

  • Mid-level Professional in Program Accounting
  • Ability to forecast and manage long-term engineering contracts
  • Support financial forecasts (short range outlooks, formal forecasts, annual plan)
  • Support periodic program reviews (EACs)
  • Advise Engineering Program Teams on proper accounting for long-term projects and related financial implications
  • SAP knowledge for updating project Estimate to Complete
  • Financial due diligence experience
  • Ability to apply accounting procedures
  • Data gathering and analysis skills
  • Ability to enhance overall efficiency and performance
  • Global thinking and collaboration with support teams and other regions
  • Knowledge sharing and ensuring consistency
  • Process review, analysis, streamlining, and standardization

Responsibilities

  • Track budget and program financial data, analyze program risk
  • Learn the principles of Accounting for long-term engineering contracts.
  • Work with program teams to ensure proper project set-up
  • Coordinate monthly process of updating project Estimate to Complete in SAP
  • Communicate with Program Teams to guide and resolve issues related to Program Accounting
  • Support external and internal audits and Balance Sheet Reviews
  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet team goals
  • Conduct financial due diligence and apply accounting procedures while also gathering and analyzing data
  • Seek methods to enhance overall efficiency and performance
  • Think Globally, work closely with support teams, and other regions
  • Share knowledge and ensure consistency as we bring additional site support under the Phoenix RFC.
  • Review, analyze, streamline and standardize department processes, work instructions, business practices
