About The Position

Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to support its Defense team, specifically within the Kinetics Effects Business Area. The selected candidate will report to the Contracts Director and be responsible for all contract management activities for a diverse portfolio of contracts on the selling side. This is an individual contributor role, with a preference for the candidate to be based in the Huntsville, AL area. The role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently but also be a team player, collaborating with various internal departments (programs, contracts, procurement, finance, project control, legal, export control) and proactively engaging with government contracting counterparts to meet customer requirements.

Requirements

  • BA degree plus 12 or more years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree or Juris Doctor degree plus 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Government regulations (FAR / DFARS).
  • Knowledge of all contract types: Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time & Materials (T&M), Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF), Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), Cost Plus Incentive Fee (CPIF), Fixed Price Level of Effort (FPLOE), Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), and General Service Administration (GSA) type contracts.
  • Hands-on experience with Other Transaction (OT) efforts.
  • Commercial contracts experience on the selling side of contracts management.
  • Proven ability to solicit and process complex information and data to solve complex problems and make sound business decisions.
  • Ability to handle multiple contractual activities with a short turn-around time.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to include well-developed analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate contract risks as well as coordinate appropriate reviews in accordance with Leidos policy and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with measured and articulate communication.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, and reconciling issues or differences.
  • Willingness to travel to Huntsville to engage in key internal and external meetings.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess a final Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and evaluation of major proposals.
  • Monitor major contracts.
  • Recommend and implement new solutions to achieve functional objectives.
  • Act as a critical asset in key negotiations.
  • Resolve multi-faceted and complex contractual/customer issues as they arise.
  • Resolve performance issues.
  • Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with Leidos policies.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships.
  • Lead the review and analysis of Request for Proposals (RFPs) to identify and mitigate contract risks.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate Teaming Agreements, Nondisclosure Agreements, License Agreements, and Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) Mitigation Plans.
