The objective of this position is to review and decision applications within acceptable Risk tolerances, making exceptions where warranted. The senior credit analyst will be communicating with Dealers, Sales, and the Funding Department through various mediums including phone, internal LOS system and email. This individual will be required to multitask throughout the day including answering and making outgoing phone calls, reviewing inbox items such as proof of income, handling escalations and reviewing/decisioning applications and escalations. This role supports the Western Canada region and follows a schedule of five (5) days per week, eight (8) hours per day, on a rotating Monday-to-Saturday schedule, between 11:00 AM and 11:00 PM EST.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, college degree a plus
  • 4+ years’ experience as Credit Analyst
  • Thorough funding and loan documentation knowledge
  • Thorough knowledge of the credit/review process and credit analysis
  • Thorough knowledge of compliance laws as related to retail consumer lending, contracting and funding
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Relationship building skills with both internal and external customers
  • Strong communications skills – oral and written
  • Intermediate to advanced user experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Self-starter with excellent time management skills
  • Team building and collaborative skills
  • Ability to assist in training new hire credit analysts
  • Coaching and feedback skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in French and English preferred, not required
  • FiServ/Defi knowledge a plus or knowledge of automated credit decision system(s)

Responsibilities

  • Adjudicate credit applications in alignment with established risk tolerances and service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Review Funding requests requiring exceptions or overrides, as well as escalations from Credit Analysts, ensuring timely decisions within established turn times
  • Provide feedback to managers on non-compliance trends or concerns to support calibration meetings and continuous improvement
  • Monitor dealer performance and fraud indicators in order to provide feedback to the managers and Risk team to help ensure that the Caution and Watchlists are kept up to date
  • Mentor credit analysts by sharing knowledge, offering guidance, and supporting onboarding and training efforts
  • Provide backup support to Credit Managers as needed to ensure consistent operational coverage
  • Complete ad hoc tasks and special projects, as assigned
