As a Senior Consulting Systems Engineer (Sr. CSE), you will be partnering with Client Managers to provide technical pre-Sales work for our Army Tactical customers across all technology verticals. World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking a Senior Consulting Systems Engineer to support our Public Sector – Army Enterprise Engineering Sales team in the National Capital Region.  This position is based in Huntsville, Alabama. This role focuses on Army presales engagements, delivering technically sound, mission-aligned solutions built around WWT’s core capabilities: Infrastructure Modernization Multi-Cloud and Hybrid Architecture Security Transformation Digital Transformation You will engage directly with Army customers through sales meetings, technical presentations, whiteboard sessions, and custom solution design. Working alongside Client Managers and strategic technology partners, you will help shape complex opportunities while continuously expanding your technical breadth and depth through advanced training and exposure to cutting-edge solutions. Travel requirements may range from 25% up to 50%, depending on customer needs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of engineering experience, preferably in a pre-sales or consulting capacity.
  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies or vendors: Cisco, NVIDIA, Dell, NetApp, VMware, AWS, and Hybrid/Multi-Cloud environments.
  • Technical depth in two or more of the following areas: Compute, Storage, Cybersecurity, Virtualization, Cloud Technologies.
  • Must reside in Huntsville, Alabama or surrounding area.
  • Ability to travel 25%–50% as required.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Federal Security Clearance; active Top Secret clearance strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and technical sales skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting U.S. Army customers strongly preferred; veterans and individuals with Intelligence Community experience are highly desired.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Federal Security Clearance; active Top Secret clearance strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Army Enterprise customers and WWT sales teams to understand technical priorities, challenges, and mission objectives, translating them into solution opportunities.
  • Analyze customer requirements and position solutions that meet or exceed both technical and mission needs.
  • Deliver technical presentations and briefings; develop Statements of Work (SOWs); respond to RFPs and RFIs; build Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Lead or participate in customer workshops, demonstrations, proof-of-concept activities, and technical assessments.
  • Provide expert-level technical guidance in at least one core specialization while maintaining broad knowledge across WWT’s portfolio.
  • Maintain technical accountability for assigned opportunities and accounts, collaborating with Client Managers on large, strategic, and complex pursuits.
  • Coordinate internal and partner resources (e.g., ATC labs, technical specialists, OEM partners) to design and propose integrated solutions and services.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, partners, and internal teams at the Manager and Director level.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with customer technical stakeholders; mentor junior team members and contribute to team capability development.
