About The Position

As a Senior Consultant in Procurement, you'll manage end-to-end procurement activities within the Sourcing Team, focusing on CIBC’s Capital Markets business and the Enterprise Market Data team. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting client needs, handling requests and projects—even those that are general or ambiguous—by defining issues and delivering innovative solutions. You'll develop and present procurement strategy recommendations tailored to business requirements and informed by industry analysis. Leading and executing moderate to high complexity procurement initiatives, you'll create requests for proposals (RFPs) and other supplier evaluation tools, ensuring CIBC risks are mitigated and all regulatory requirements and CIBC policies are followed. You'll provide specialized support for procurement activities related to Capital Markets operations and enterprise market data, aligning with business needs and regulatory frameworks. Additionally, you'll develop contract content, lead negotiation strategy alignment and contract negotiations, secure necessary authorizations, and ensure successful implementation of procurement initiatives. Your expertise will help navigate complex procurement scenarios and support CIBC’s operations within a dynamic and highly regulated environment.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement and supplier processes, practices, tools, and principles of formal sourcing.
  • Apply procurement skills across various categories and circumstances, maximizing efficiencies and systems to meet CIBC business goals.
  • Strong self-planning skills.
  • Experience drafting contract schedules (such as Scope of Work and SLAs).
  • Experience negotiating contractual terms and conditions.
  • Skilled at developing strategy and converting it into actionable plans.
  • Foundational understanding of Capital Markets and the importance of market data.
  • Value relationships and build trust through respect and authenticity, maintaining a diverse network of partners.

  • Stay current with innovations and advancements in market data business practices, technologies, and vendor landscape.
  • Demonstrate strong influencing and negotiation skills, liaising with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Manage contract drafting, negotiations, finalization, and approval processes while complying with CIBC’s Procurement and Supplier Governance policies.
  • Listen actively, ask insightful questions, and approach challenges from the client’s perspective.
  • Take accountability for client issues and collaborate with others to develop effective solutions.
  • Apply effective self-management practices to handle multiple concurrent objectives, projects, and activities.
