About The Position

Nationwide is seeking a strategic leader to identify, cultivate, and advance high value partnership opportunities that drive measurable business impact and strengthen Nationwide’s role in pet healthcare. The Sr. Consultant Pet Health Partnerships will apply advanced analytics, market and competitive insights, and partner performance data to shape strategy, surface new relationship opportunities, and guide decisions on which initiatives deliver the greatest value for pets, members, and the enterprise. This role will support contract negotiations, influence enterprise planning, and help define long-term partnership roadmaps that accelerate innovation and sustainable growth. In a remote environment, you’ll collaborate across teams to develop, refine, and execute pet healthcare programs that improve access to care and enhance customer experience. A successful candidate brings strong analytical acumen, strategic thinking, and relationship leadership to turn promising ideas into actionable, digitally enabled programs that support Nationwide’s mission to protect what matters most.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in marketing, business administration, animal health-related science or related field preferred.
  • Ten or more years leading cross-functional programs and enterprise-level projects, leveraging analytics and performance metrics to inform strategic decisions, optimize program effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge in data-driven insight creation, partner/relationship management, and program management.
  • Excellent customer services skills, relationship building skills, and interpersonal savvy.
  • Ability to translate strategic concepts to tactical execution and guide implementation to consumer level information.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information in verbal, written or visual forms to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent listening skills with ability to incorporate other viewpoints to define best solution.
  • Strong analytical skills to leverage research and data to support pet healthcare strategies.
  • Ability to lead, prioritize projects, and work across multiple departments.
  • Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; adjust schedule or work hours to meet changes in priorities.
  • Ability to function independently or in a team environment with limited supervision while being a team player.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified, licensed, or registered veterinary professional (technician, nurse, veterinarian, practice manager) preferred.
  • Exposure to pet insurance and health communication preferred; ability to quickly assimilate industry trends and apply insights to innovative partnership and program strategies.
  • Deep knowledge, experience, and relationships in animal health preferred.
  • Experience leveraging AI to enhance and accelerate work desired.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, cultivate, and advance high‑value strategic partnership opportunities by using market and member insights to shape partnership strategies, evaluate fit, and recommend new or expanded offerings that strengthen Nationwide’s leadership in pet healthcare.
  • Leverage analytics to guide opportunity assessment, inform partnership selection, and optimize ongoing partner performance; ensure the creation of dashboards and reporting tools that monitor program health, track KPIs, and support decisions on program expansion, refinement, or sunset.
  • Advance selected opportunities into formalized partnerships by directing end‑to-end partnership operations, including business case development, conceptual model design, contract negotiation, and review of marketing, PR, claims, and member‑service materials to ensure accuracy, mitigate risk, and maintain enterprise alignment.
  • Direct transformation of qualitative and quantitative data (e.g., partner performance, program outcomes) and member feedback into actionable insights to continuously refine current programs and inform prioritization of future partnership opportunities.
  • Lead operational execution of complex, multi‑faceted programs by prioritizing resources, managing timelines, coordinating cross‑functional contributions, and defining, tracking, and reporting KPIs to measure and communicate success.
  • Maximize partnership impact by cultivating strong internal and external relationships, integrating partners into strategic initiatives, and driving collaboration across Nationwide and the veterinary and animal health ecosystem to deliver measurable value for pets, families, and the enterprise.
  • Provide leadership for associate management, including performance optimization, talent development, workflow planning, and organizational effectiveness for direct and indirect reports.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
