This role involves proactively identifying and documenting deficiencies in roadway and bridge construction, ensuring compliance with contract specifications. The inspector will conduct daily site visits, monitor materials and workmanship, and provide mentorship to junior team members. Responsibilities include specialized inspections and reports for bridge construction and OV activities, supervising junior technicians, and acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Developer activities. The inspector will monitor the Developer's on-site construction, inspect materials, perform oversight inspection and verification of materials sampling and testing, and ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and schedules. The role also involves attending pre-activity meetings, monitoring progress and quality, resolving issues with the Independent Quality Assurance Firm (IQF), verifying data input into the Department’s Materials database, and ensuring material certification requirements are met for Final Acceptance. Contract administrative duties and documentation maintenance are also key aspects of the position.
