Position Summary: CVS Pharmacy Inc., a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in Woonsocket, RI : Sr Computer Engineer to Design and deliver efficient technical software solutions for CVS’s technical initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Information Science, Information Technology, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Three (3) years of experience in designing and implementing observability solutions.
  • Three (3) years of experience with observability tools: AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.
  • Three (3) years of experience with REST, SOAP, or APIs.
  • Three (3) years of experience with on-premises VMs, containers, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and other cloud technologies.
  • Three (3) years of experience with scripting in PowerShell or Python.
  • Three (3) years of experience with automation tools: Ansible, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
  • Three (3) years of experience with Project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with application and engineering teams to understand their monitoring and observability needs.
  • Design and implement effective observability solutions using tools such as AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, vendors, and best practices in observability.
  • Develop and enhance observability solutions, ensuring they meet the requirements of application teams and owners.
  • Create proof-of-concept (POC) and minimum viable product (MVP) solutions, handing them off to the automation team for further development.
  • Work with on-premises VMs, containers, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and other cloud technologies.
  • Utilize APIs for integration and data gathering across various observability tools.
  • Write and maintain scripts using PowerShell or Python for automation and process enhancement.
  • Leverage automation tools like Ansible, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions to streamline observability tasks.
  • Self-manage projects and timelines, ensuring deliverables are met.
