About The Position

Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. This role is part of the Manufacturing team, which owns all process development, fabrication strategy, and production equipment for Terran R. The team has a wide variety of responsibilities – from factory floor layout, to developing complex tooling for novel processes, and interfacing with our vehicle engineering team to heavily influence design of the rocket. This is a 1st shift position with a standard schedule of 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM PT, Monday through Friday, with a baseline expectation of a 50-hour workweek, which may include occasional overtime as needed to meet operational goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of composites manufacturing experience in aerospace, automotive, or related industries
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with engineering and production
  • Ability to set up and operate calibrated tools and precision measuring equipment
  • Working experience with Manufacturing Execution System software to document manufacturing operations (work order labor charging, buyoffs, data collections, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
  • Experience partnering with other business functions to successfully build flight hardware such as manufacturing engineering and quality
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations at remote or downstream work sites

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the layup of flight and development composites hardware, working with materials such as carbon and fiberglass pre-pregs, honeycomb cores, and adhesives
  • Use materials and systems commonly used in aerospace composites manufacturing such as: vacuum bagging films and consumables, laser projection systems, manufacturing execution software, and operate in controlled clean environments
  • Collaborate with the production team and manufacturing engineers to develop, document, and improve manufacturing processes
  • Uphold high Relativity Space standards regarding safety and shop cleanliness
