About The Position

Payward, the parent company behind Kraken and other financial services businesses, is hiring several Senior Compliance Associates for Kraken’s Market Surveillance function. The team detects, investigates, and reports market abuse across regulated trading venues, including spot crypto markets, crypto futures, tokenised equities, OTC markets, and consumer trading. The role supports day-to-day surveillance and investigations while helping expand the surveillance programme as the company’s licensing footprint and product range grow. The position involves reviewing and resolving surveillance alerts, conducting data-led analytical reviews, investigating escalated behaviour, and documenting findings for senior compliance stakeholders. It also includes assessing internal and external referrals, drafting suspicious transaction and order reports and suspicious activity reports, preparing management information and regulatory reporting, and contributing to surveillance platform and tooling improvements. The associate will use AI and automation to support evidence-gathering and case reconstruction while applying human judgement to decisions. The role is suited to candidates based in the UK, Ireland, Cyprus, Malta, Romania, or Canada who are fluent in English. Payward is an equal opportunity employer and may use job-related skills or work-style assessments during hiring.
