About The Position

The Sr. Commercial Scheduler I, US Crude Exports will work in an open, fast-paced environment with a team of Schedulers and Traders in Houston, London, and Singapore to optimize crude oil supply throughout the Phillips 66 refining system and commercial businesses. This position is primarily responsible for activities related to supplying and loading domestic and international crude grades on vessels from the US Gulf Coast to destinations in Europe and Asia. The role will include crude product scheduling activities for terminals, pipelines, and vessels.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Intermediate or greater proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Able to work remotely via cellphone and/or laptop computer 24/7
  • Able to work extended and non-standard hours
  • 6 or more years of experience in the energy sector supporting supply, trading, or logistical functions
  • 3 or more years of Commercial scheduling experience, including waterborne operations

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with marine operations, crude product quality, or measurement / inspection techniques
  • Existing knowledge of US crude oil logistics
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Background using systems such as SAP, Alteryx, and Tableau
  • Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to adapt to changing situations while handling competing demands

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, nominate, and confirm movements via various distribution channels through internal and third-party scheduling systems for pipelines, tanks, rail, waterborne, and other modes of transportation.
  • Prepare and maintain daily the monthly supply/demand balance and lease forecasts required to plan around the supply, markets, and pipeline disruptions, and provide updates on positions and respond to unexpected events, making contingency plans to minimize disruption to supply or movements.
  • Manage, update, and tie out SAP with crude oil movements from nominations to shipper Balance actuals.
  • Prepare, confirm, and submit weekly system inventory levels vs targets for the Supply and Trading business.
  • Help create value by optimizing supply/demand portfolio, batch trading while increasing transportation efficiency and minimizing per-barrel transportation costs.
  • Act as a liaison between accounting/billing personnel and traders: aid in the resolution of price discrepancies, contract issues, payment terms, volume differences, etc.
  • Provide backup to other schedulers as needed.
  • Provide on-call support and be available to react to dynamic operations, at times outside of core business hours.
  • Understand and abide by the rules/requirements of regulatory reporting.
  • Prepare and submit daily written reports regarding operational status
  • Cultivate and maintain internal and external counterparty relationships in support of operations.
  • Distinguish Phillips 66 as an industry leader in integrity, scheduling excellence, and professionalism.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships across Phillips 66 organizations including VCO, Midstream, Refining, and FP&A.
  • Coordinate inspectors and ensure specification and quantity measurement requirements are met and reconcile any sharing of costs between counterparties.
  • Enter movements into SAP, Navarik, and other 3rd party systems accurately and on-time as applicable.
  • Develop nominations for waterborne movements and seeking vetting approval from Marine.
  • Working non-standard hours, as needed, to communicate effectively with counterparts in London and Singapore
