About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, supporting all AWS data centers and the equipment that ensures customer access to innovation. Within AIS, the AWS Infrastructure Supply Chain & Procurement team focuses on sourcing, building, and maintaining socially responsible data center supply chains. This role is for a results-oriented individual to lead technical sourcing activities for semiconductor technology, driving the development and execution of sourcing strategies and supplier management for silicon products. The position requires close collaboration with hardware and network engineering teams to define strategies for next-generation optical interconnect technology, enabling AWS's growth through responsible and strategic sourcing of disruptive technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience in business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure supply chain, procurement, or hardware engineering.
  • 3+ years of direct experience managing custom ASICs / silicon supply chain.
  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps influencing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership, or experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sourcing strategies for semiconductor products to meet business and engineering objectives and foster sustainable supplier relationships.
  • Collaborate with Server and Network Product Development and Network Engineering teams to define hardware development and product launch plans, including a multi-year technology strategy.
  • Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to identify supply base opportunities for risk mitigation, supply continuity, and cost optimization.
  • Negotiate and implement supplier agreements/contracts in coordination with cross-functional partners and suppliers.
  • Lead sourcing engagements and competitive bidding processes (RFI, RFQ, and RFP).
  • Track internal metrics for project execution and sourcing plans.
  • Make optimal trade-offs between schedule, resources, and scope, applying technical and business knowledge to address major risks and obstacles.
