About The Position

This position will perform work requiring considerable independence, initiative, and judgment in combining a broad scope of professional human resources knowledge and comprehensive analytical judgment as the subject matter expert responsible for leading DEMA's classification and compensation program, to include the development and implementation of the DEMA classification and compensation processes. This position will also be responsible for leading various HR projects to support the agency. Establishes and deploys continuous improvement activities in accordance with the Arizona Management System.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience as a HR Analyst Intermediate OR three years of experience in professional personnel work.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Personnel Management or a closely related field may substitute for one year of professional personnel work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional and technical expertise and recommendations to support DEMA's business needs and strategies to managers, supervisors, and HR analysts on all aspects of classification and compensation. Leads all DEMA classification and compensation projects of various complexity and sensitivity. Conducts complex data analysis and makes recommendations to senior leadership on the appropriate path forward, ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, and ADOA classification and compensation policies.
  • Composes and reviews/analyze all agency classification and compensation requests such as position description (PD) maintenance, salary analysis, inequity reviews, promotions, reallocations, special assignments, in-grade adjustments, etc.
  • Partners with divisional leaders to understand their organizational structure challenges, works with leaders to identify and develop path forward to streamline organizational efficiencies, and ensures all required actions are accurately completed per the project plan. Coordinates key partners necessary for complex classification projects and ensures that all project components are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Processes, completes, and audits all classification and compensation actions. Conducts quality assurance reviews for all classification actions submitted. Maintains confidential records/documentation related to all classification requests/projects.
  • Leads and participates in various HR special projects that are focused on continuously improving human resources related procedures and services. Collaborates with HR Analysts to support critical HR functions to ensure business needs are continuously met.
  • Will generate, prepare, and analyze various agency AZ360 reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) dashboards which are utilized by the Agency and Human Resources Director.
  • Will represent the agency in an acting capacity as the Human Resources Manager as needed.
