About The Position

As a Sr. Claims Analyst supporting the Voya Leave Management (VLM) department, you will guide claimants through their integrated process of leave with empathy and clarity. You will be responsible for high complex claims. Your primary claim management focus will be on Short Term Disability, Family Medical Leave (FMLA) and other paid leaves. You will also be relied on as a mentor and support claim analysts/specialist. You will also be responsible for oversight of contract and language discrepancies with contracts and proactively provide solutions. You will ensure a high standard of service while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in FMLA or unpaid leave claims management
  • 3+ years of experience in Short Term disability or paid leave claims management
  • Strong decision making and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook.
  • Strong written and oral communication capabilities
  • Proven critical thinking and problem solving
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and determine claim payments in an accurate and timely manner
  • Claim decisions on non-complex disability claims
  • Mentor and supports claims analyst/specialist.
  • Lead claim Roundtable and document action plans
  • Communicate clearly and professionally via phone and email
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in team-based problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage assigned work queues within defined service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Support additional projects and responsibilities as needed.
