Sr. Civil Engineer
About The Position
Farnsworth Group is seeking a Sr. Civil Engineer to provide our private owners and municipal clients with cost effective, user friendly, and attractive developments as well as developing new client relationships. In this role, you will plan, design, and manage a variety of owner-driven civil engineering projects, organize and complete projects from inception to completion, support internal and external clients on Land Development related projects, and collaborate with other Farnsworth Group disciplines and client consultants. You will also balance internal and external project schedules and staffing, prepare project proposals, assist with business development efforts, and assist the professional growth and development of Junior staff.
Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering
- 15+ years of civil engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required
- Strong background in site design for both greenfield and redevelopment projects
- Strong background and working knowledge of IDOT Standard Specifications and requirements
- Extensive experience with municipal/development related transportation projects
Nice To Haves
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) a plus
- Strong team player that can manage and contribute to several projects simultaneously
- Sanitary sewer, water line and storm water management design experience a plus
- Ability to effectively manage clients and participate in business development activities
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience
- Contract and negotiating skills
