Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline).
10–15 years of progressively responsible experience in capital project management within a manufacturing environment (consumer goods, healthcare, or pharmaceutical preferred).
Proven track record in delivering complex, multi-million-dollar projects in GMP or regulated industries.
Experience leading small teams and managing contractors and vendors.
Strong project management, budgeting, and cost control skills.
Autocad proficiency
Deep understanding of engineering design, construction, commissioning, and validation processes.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
Arc Flash/IR processes

Nice To Haves

PMP certification or equivalent professional project management qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end execution of major capital projects (typically USD $2–20M) from concept through commissioning and handover.
Develop and manage project charters, business cases, scope, budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation plans.
Ensure adherence to corporate engineering standards, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and safety requirements.
Oversee procurement processes for capital equipment, ensuring cost efficiency and technical compliance.
Technical specification creation for manufacturing equipment platforms & processes.
Partner with operations, R&D, supply chain, and finance to prioritize and plan annual capital budgets.
Translate business needs into project objectives and technical solutions that drive productivity, capacity, and compliance.
Provide regular updates to senior management and governance committees on project status, financial performance, and risk exposure.
Supervise and mentor direct reports, fostering skill development and accountability.
Promote a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement in project execution.
Contribute to cross-functional training and development of engineering staff in project management best practices.
Ensure all capital projects comply with regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, environmental, and local authorities).
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure readiness for audits and inspections within the standard CPMO database.
Champion sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives in capital investments.
Lead post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and improve capital project methodologies.
Implement standardized tools and systems for project tracking, cost control, and performance measurement.
