About The Position

The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing complex purchasing activities, supplier relationships, and operational procurement execution to ensure continuity of supply, cost management, and policy compliance. This role operates with increased autonomy and serves as a subject matter resource to internal stakeholders and junior buyers. The Senior Buyer manages higher risk or higher value purchases, supports sourcing initiatives, and plays a key role in supplier performance management and issue resolution.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles
Strong understanding of procurement best practices, contracts, and commercial terms
Proven negotiation, supplier management, and issue‑resolution skills
Experience working in ERP and/or e‑procurement systems, with proficiency in Excel and reporting or analytics tools
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently with sound judgment
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities
Effective written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder and supplier engagement

Nice To Haves

Professional procurement certification (ISM, CIPS, APICS) or progress toward certification

Responsibilities

Manage end‑to‑end purchasing of assigned categories, suppliers, or business units
Create and maintain accurate purchase orders and ensure on‑time delivery
Ensure continuity of supply through issue resolution, expediting, and demand changes
Own day‑to‑day supplier relationships and manage performance (delivery, quality, service)
Lead supplier issue resolution and support performance reviews
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms within authority
Identify cost savings, cost avoidance, and efficiency opportunities
Ensure compliance with contracts, procurement policies, and approval thresholds
Act as a trusted procurement advisor to internal stakeholders
Support sourcing initiatives, process improvements, and mentoring of buyers
