About The Position

Boyd Thermal by Eaton is seeking a Senior Technical Buyer in our Lancaster, PA location. This role plays a critical part in aerospace and defense applications. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will have a direct impact on our operational success and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • All positions require use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms regulations.
  • All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Candidate will not need sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, employees, customers, vendors, suppliers, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc., ) in its most difficult phases.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes approved and certified sources of supply and coordinates the purchasing and distribution of raw materials, components, machinery and supplies in R&D and manufacturing.
  • Searches for and coordinates the approval of sources of supply for raw materials, components, equipment machinery and supplies.
  • Negotiate prices for all purchased items based on target pricing strategies.
  • Negotiates vendor managed inventory programs with key suppliers.
  • Works closely with engineering to determine sources for and items needed to support R&D projects.
  • Establishes short and long-term purchase price variance (PPV) and lead-time improvement plans.
  • Prepares, coordinates and expedites purchase orders and change notices.
