About The Position

This position is responsible for performing proper negotiation, proper analysis, and procurement of products and services while maintaining internal controls, operational excellence, and good customer service.

Requirements

  • A BA or BS Degree in Operations Management, Production Planning, Inventory Management or other related business field with one to three years’ work experience.
  • Other experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements.
  • Understands computerized inventory tracking and record keeping system.
  • Demonstrates logical and creative problem-solving techniques.
  • Effectively communicates both verbal and written.
  • Must be a committed team player.
  • Must demonstrate the flexibility to adapt to constant change, interruptions, and repetition without losing efficiency or focus.
  • This position requires a need to exercise independent judgment and action.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow company procurement processes, controls and policies.
  • Negotiate price and material agreements with appropriate and approved suppliers.
  • Manage the full procurement process from requisition to delivery, including purchase order creation, expediting, and ensuring timely receipt of goods/services required to support production schedules.
  • Lead annual cost savings initiatives through strategic supplier negotiations, resourcing projects, design optimization, and process improvements.
  • Facilitate purchasing transaction activities ensuring that company purchasing controls are in place and transactions are in compliance with company policies.
  • Review MRP (Material Resource Planning) and execute transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand demand requirements, forecasting, and align procurement activities with business objectives.
  • Validate purchase orders and thoroughly review and correct all confirmations to improve accuracy and reduce service errors
  • Ensure timely communication within the department, company and other stakeholders.
  • Resolve issues, serve as a resource in troubleshooting complex matters and ensure that calls with questions are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Manage and maintain strong supplier relationships, including performance monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow company Quality Business Management System (BMS).
  • Collaborate with other departments to close operational gaps and audit requirements for material tracing.
  • Follow safety activities and safety program to help promote safety culture in the entire organization.
  • Maintain excellent communication, cooperation and teamwork among all stakeholders within the company.
