About The Position

Your attention to detail and commitment to safe, compliant sanitization practices will help protect product quality and patient safety. POSITION SUMMARY The Sanitizer supports Manufacturing Operations by performing the process-critical function of sanitizing manufacturing-controlled areas. This role helps ensure that areas where sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing takes place meet federal guidelines for microbial contamination control through the correct and consistent application of sanitizing agents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with cGMP and safe work practices.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak clear English.
  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading written documents, using a computer monitor, reaching, handling, and grasping.
  • Occasional climbing of ladders or steps, walking on inclines and uneven terrain, stooping, kneeling, crouching, writing, talking, bending, turning, balancing, carrying, and listening.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing experience beneficial.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical facility beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily sanitization of operating manufacturing-controlled areas, including machine rooms, tank rooms, BFS gowning rooms, chemical weigh-out areas, and IQA weigh-out areas.
  • Use safe work practices at all times, including proper bending and lifting techniques, chemical awareness, and slip, trip, and fall awareness.
  • Learn and follow standard operating procedures for customer-specific and general sanitizing functions.
  • Assist Manufacturing Operations with atypical requests, including emergency cleanups and room preparations.
  • Ensure necessary controlled gowning materials are stocked and available for the operation.
  • Conduct daily audits of cGMP paperwork completed by Sanitizers and coworkers following sanitization activities, ensuring Good Documentation Practices are followed.
  • Ensure support equipment within controlled areas is cleaned and stored properly to prevent contamination.
  • Communicate with Manufacturing Management regarding operating schedules and coordinate available time with multiple groups to support a smooth working environment.
  • Perform sporicidal sanitization of controlled areas in response to investigations and required corrective actions.
  • Perform weekly and monthly inventories of sanitary and controlled-area supplies to ensure the operation has the equipment needed to work within specified regulations.
  • Maintain the effectiveness of Quality System components relevant to the position.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage risk to ensure product quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
