Description: The Sr. Buyer/Planner executes disciplined, compliant, and data-driven procurement practices that balance cost, quality, inventory, and supply continuity. This role requires strong judgment, clear documentation of decisions, and strict adherence to established sourcing, purchasing, and quality standards. You will manage a highly complex supply chain spanning multi-level assemblies. This position demands technical literacy, strong analytical capability, and persistent supplier engagement. The ideal anticipates issues before they disrupt supply and takes decisive action to resolve constraints while protecting service levels and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or related field
  • Requires 7+ years' experience in Operations and Procurement
  • Deep understanding of Medical Device Manufacturing (ISO 13485 / FDA 21 CFR 820 environment).
  • Knowledge and familiarity of applicable regulations/standards (e.g. ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820, EU MDR 2017/745, ISO 14971) as required to perform the job function
  • Experience with ERP/MRP and project management databases necessary.
  • Expert-level Excel skills (must be able to build complex models from scratch).

  • NetSuite experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Execute rigorous, daily reviews of MRP and planned orders to ensure 100% material availability.
  • Analyze supplier capacity against forecasted demand, identifying bottlenecks before they impact production.
  • Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in deciphering Multi-Level Bills of Materials (BOMs), understanding the relationship between raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished products.
  • Partner with Engineering and Quality to manage turnkey manufacturing transitions and supplier on boarding.
  • Manage indirect procurement needs supporting the implant business unit, ensuring all MRO and specialized tooling requirements are met.
  • Support new product launches by managing completion of supply chain activities that must occur to ensure initial builds of inventory for launch and sustaining availability
  • Support the Akura Quality System
