About The Position

Spark is looking for a Senior Business Systems Specialist to own process improvement across our core business systems — someone who thrives on taking the tools we already have (Airtable, Intercom, Salesforce, Dialpad, Notion, Calendly, and more) and building smarter, more automated workflows on top of them. We're looking for someone who can zoom out from any single workflow and ask, "Is this even the right process to automate, or should we be solving this differently?" You'll partner directly with leadership and cross-functional teams to define the right problems to solve, build a point of view on where automation creates the most leverage for Spark, and shape the roadmap for process and AI investment across the business. This isn't a "rip and replace" role. It's a "make what we have work harder for us" role. You'll spend your time mapping how work actually moves through our systems, finding where time and accuracy get lost, and building / redesigning those processes with automation and AI — always with an eye on how it impacts the people doing the work and the customers on the other end of it. AI leadership is core to this role, not optional. We expect you to be fluent in applying AI to real operational problems — agents, LLM-based workflows, AI features inside our existing tools — and to help the rest of the team build that fluency too. You'll be the person others come to when they're asking "could AI help with this?" and the one who knows where AI creates real leverage versus where it doesn't. This is a hybrid role based at our NYC or Denver office.

Requirements

5+ years of operations, consulting, or data experience
Expertise with Airtable, Salesforce, and/or Intercom
Strong technical acumen with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new tools, systems, AI, and technologies, translating technical challenges into actionable business solutions.
Demonstrated experience applying AI to real business problems - automations, agents, LLM-based workflows, or AI features inside operational tooling.
Strong track record of navigating and resolving intricate data and workflow challenges, using a combination of strategic thinking and hands-on problem-solving to drive operational improvements and deliver results.
Exceptional attention to detail
Influential cross-functional communication & stakeholder management
Ability to understand complex business logic and translate it into technical processes
Ability to continuously refine processes, adopt new technologies, and incorporate feedback
Independent & comfortable with ambiguity

Nice To Haves

Experience working with tools like Airtable, Intercom, Salesforce, Dialpad, Google Sheets, and Notion
Additional technical experience with tools like SQL, Python or BI tools
Experience building with AI APIs, agent frameworks, or automation platforms (Zapier, Make, n8n, or similar)
Experience with AI in a regulated environment, particularly healthcare

Responsibilities

Own workflow optimization across Spark: map how work moves through our systems, quantify where time is lost, and redesign processes with AI and automation.
Lead the integration, ongoing maintenance, and strategic enhancement of key business systems such as Intercom, Airtable, Salesforce, Dialpad, Notion, Calendly, and more. Leverage a comprehensive understanding of each platform’s capabilities and interdependencies to drive seamless, cohesive workflows across the organization.
Take full ownership of maintaining Spark’s core systems, ensuring they are fully aligned with organizational objectives, scalability requirements, and compliance standards. Drive continuous improvement to meet evolving business needs.
Collaborate with internal teams to collect, analyze, and synthesize data from diverse sources and platforms, ensuring it’s actionable and supports key decision-making processes. Provide data insights that inform strategic initiatives across departments.
Manage complex data integration projects, ensuring seamless data flow from external partners and systems into Spark’s infrastructure.
Serve as the go-to expert for internal tools, providing advanced guidance and support to teams on best practices for system usage, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
Lead the creation, editing, and maintenance of comprehensive documentation, ensuring clarity and accessibility for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Foster cross-functional understanding and alignment through clear, concise communication.
