Sr. Business Systems Analyst

Avalara•UNAVAILABLE, UNAVAILABLE

About The Position

Avalara’s Marketing Technology team is seeking a senior business analyst to drive roadmap and delivery for its lead intake, enrichment, and routing services and the Marketo platform (MAU), which powers campaign execution. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Systems, Marketing Technology, this role translates Marketing, RevOps, and Engineering priorities into a prioritized backlog with measurable outcomes. It connects lead-data quality with campaign delivery and provides visibility into how technical decisions affect pipeline speed and accuracy. The role owns backlog prioritization across the MLE and MAU teams, defines acceptance criteria, and makes delivery trade-offs. It uses AI to help draft requirements, identify edge cases, analyze KPIs, detect patterns in data-quality and routing failures, and maintain current documentation. The analyst also governs Salesforce-Marketo field mappings and MSI usage, resolves schema drift and synchronization errors, and drives Workfront-to-Marketo automation patterns to reduce campaign build time. Avalara describes itself as an AI-first company and expects employees to apply AI to business challenges, improve efficiency, contribute solutions, stay current with trends and practices, and share knowledge. The company offers a compensation package, paid time off, paid parental leave, and, for many employees, bonuses. Benefits vary by location and generally include private medical, life, and disability insurance. Avalara also supports diversity, equity, and inclusion and has eight employee-run resource groups with senior leadership and executive sponsorship.
