About The Position

We are seeking a Sr. Business Analyst within the Regulatory Risk Services team to lead operational projects and remediations that drive regulatory compliance and operational excellence. This role requires a strategic thinker who bridges business needs, technology solutions, and risk management; leading cross-functional initiatives and delivering business impact. You will apply your experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university or equivalent or High school diploma or equivalent AND 5+ years of securities, banking, technology and/or job specific industry experience
  • 3+ years prior securities, banking, technology and/or job specific related industry experience
  • Securities license 7 or 99 (or able to obtain license within 120 days)
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop solutions for escalated issues
  • 2+ years demonstrated project team coordination and/or coaching/mentoring leadership experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with an ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Must have proven ability to create effective PowerPoint presentations and provide executive visibility on team performance, risks, and backlog
  • Proven ability to adapt and perform under pressure – thrive in rapidly changing environments with shifting priorities and delivers effectively in high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Ops teams to assess, research, and analyze events requiring remediation or areas of opportunities to enhance the WM Ops Risk framework.
  • Plan and manage remediation and initiatives impacting Operations, working with stakeholders to move initiatives through the new initiative and project lifecycle processes.
  • Participate in Operations, firm, and/or industry initiatives providing process design, expert product knowledge, technical expertise, and problem solving unique to one or more specialty areas.
  • Participate in business requirement development, UAT testing, end-user training, and implementation support for enhancements and new firm initiatives for changing technology systems, supporting department processes.
  • Consult with RBC IT, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve systemic and operational challenges.
  • Partner with Ops teams to support Operations with the implementation of regulatory risk projects and initiatives and help lead Ops partners through the project lifecycle process.
  • Support the development and execution of back-office capabilities and strategies, resulting in initiatives, detailed business cases, and other business deliverables.
  • Will work closely with individuals within Operations, Technology, Project Management, and other across the business to coordinate work and drive projects.
  • Though critical thinking and data analysis will assess gaps and areas for improvement, work with Ops teams to determine risk factors and implementation requirements/impact.
  • Analyze and resolve escalated problems/issues while ensuring adherence to all regulatory and firm policy requirements.
  • Support WM Ops Risk & and Control Committee representation by assessing, researching, and analyzing new items and document prior discussion.
  • Lead meetings and presentations when required.
  • Analyze incoming process change requests, C&C firms and products for impacts and risks to Operations and prepare for discussion.
  • Prepare Ops Regulatory Risk and Control updates regularly.
  • Assist in the production of presentations for a range of stakeholders highlighting achievements, reporting metrics, and other relevant material.
  • Drive innovation in areas such as risk AI enablement, technology, and automation, while focusing on risk and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures quality outcomes, escalates issues effectively, and helps develop team capabilities.
  • Strengthens analytics and reporting through system improvements and innovative solutions, enabling executive decision-making.
