About The Position
This role is for a Sr. Business Analyst in New Jersey, operating under a Hybrid Model. The position requires a strong understanding of insurance principles and experience in core system modernization. The analyst will be responsible for eliciting, documenting, and managing requirements, collaborating closely with various teams, and analyzing business processes to identify improvements and automation opportunities.
Requirements
- Familiarity with rating, pricing, underwriting rules, and loss drivers
- Awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements (DOI filings, state specific rules)
- Experience with core modernization, replacement, or enhancement initiatives
- Strong ability in requirements traceability (RTM) and change impact analysis
- Strong experience working in Agile / Scrum teams

Responsibilities
- Creation of Business Requirements Documents (BRD)
- Creation of Functional Requirements (FRD)
- Creation of User Stories with Acceptance Criteria
- Creation of Use Cases and Process Flows
- As Is / To Be process analysis across policy, underwriting, claims, and servicing
- Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities
- Experience with STP (Straight Through Processing) and workflow enablement
- Requirements elicitation through workshops, interviews, and SME sessions
- Convert business needs into system ready functional specifications
- Jira story creation, Backlog grooming, sprint support, and story clarification
- Close collaboration with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Developers & QA teams
